Amy is the Principal and Founder of Searchlight Executive Advisors, where she helps associations and mission-driven organizations navigate complexity, strengthen their organizations, and confidently prepare for what’s next.

Amy brings more than 30 years of association leadership and consulting experience, combining the perspective of a seasoned association executive with nearly two decades inside a leading association management company, where she held senior executive roles and led the organization’s consulting practice. Over the course of her career, she has served in multipleExecutive Director/CEO and COO roles, giving her firsthand experience leading organizations from both the strategic and operational sides of the executive table.

That combination shapes the way Amy advises clients today. She understands the responsibilities of the CEO, the operational discipline required to turn vision into reality, and the often-complex relationship between boards, executive teams, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. She has been the executive accountable for the decisions—not simply the advisor recommending them.

Throughout her career, Amy has worked with associations across industries, sizes, and stages of organizational development. Her consulting experience includes strategic planning, organizational and operational assessments, governance modernization, organizational design, membership and business strategy, process improvement, mergers and organizational restructuring, new program and revenue development, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Amy has spent much of her career helping organizations navigate pivotal moments: rethinking governance structures, redesigning membership models, strengthening volunteer leadership, launching new initiatives, improving organizational effectiveness, and translating ambitious strategies into the systems, structures, and accountability required to execute them.

Her experience as both a consultant and association executive gives Amy an important perspective on what happens after a strategic plan, assessment, or set of recommendations is delivered. She understands the realities leaders face when recommendations must be implemented alongside competing priorities, limited resources, board expectations, staff dynamics, and the day-to-day demands of running an organization. Searchlight's work is therefore designed not simply to identify what should change, but to help leaders determine how to make that change achievable and sustainable.

Amy also brings a deep understanding of the association management company (AMC) business model from both inside the industry and as an advisor to management companies. She spent nearly two decades at Association Headquarters, a 175-person professional services firm, where she held association chief executive roles before moving into enterprise leadership spanning consulting, strategic initiatives, business development, and organizational transformation. Earlier in her career, she served as an Account Executive with Wanner Associates, also an AMC. Amy has worked at both the client-service and enterprise levels—leading initiatives involving organizational structure, staffing and utilization, process improvement, technology, financial operations, client relationship management, business development, and growth. That firsthand perspective now informs her work advising AMC leaders on how to build stronger, more profitable, and scalable management organizations.

Amy holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) credential from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management.

Her commitment to the association community extends throughout her career. Amy has held multiple leadership roles with the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE), including President. She has also volunteered extensively with ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, including several years of service on the ASAE Research Foundation Research Committee, the ASAE Conscious Inclusion Advisory Committee and, most recently, the 7 Measures of Success Task Force.

Amy founded Searchlight Executive Advisors around a principle that has guided her work throughout her career: leaders make better decisions when they can see beyond the immediate issue to understand the larger system, recognize patterns and possibilities, and focus attention on what matters most.

That philosophy is embodied in Searchlight Thinking™—an approach that helps leaders illuminate complexity, align what matters, navigate the path forward, turn strategy into action, and create meaningful impact.

Helping mission-driven organizations see what’s next.

Beyond the Office

When I’m not working with organizations, you’ll usually find me somewhere near the water. I live near Long Beach Island, New Jersey, and the beach is my favorite place to recharge. I love traveling, reading a great book, and photography - especially exploring a new place with my camera in hand. I’m also a big music fan and love going to concerts whenever I get the chance. I enjoy sports and am a proud Eagles fan (Go Birds!).  Most of all, I value spending time with my family.

And because life shouldn’t be all strategy and organizational transformation, I’m unapologetically obsessed with Ted Lasso, and the Bachelor franchise remains my guilty pleasure.
